During Your Visit

What Happens During My First Appointment? Your first visit will consist of an initial physical therapy evaluation. During the evaluation, your therapist will begin by discussing your medical history and develop an understanding of your limitations. They’ll then assess your movement, strength, flexibility, and other physical abilities to identify the root cause of your issue. After explaining their findings, they’ll work with you to set personalized goals and create a treatment plan, which may include exercises, hands-on techniques, and education to support your recovery. By the end of the session, you’ll have a clear understanding of your condition and the steps to take toward feeling and moving better. How Long Are Appointments? You can expect an estimated duration of 20-45 minutes for evaluations and follow-up visits, depending on protocol restrictions and clinical needs. How Many Visits Will I Need? Several factors influence the number of sessions you will need, like the presentation of your condition, progress, and treatment goals set by the physical therapist. Your clinician will discuss the frequency and duration of your plan following the initial evaluation.

Who Will I Work With During Therapy? During each individual treatment session, you will work 1 on 1 with a single clinician. However, our patients work with a team of 2 clinicians (PT and PTA) during the course of their therapy case to allow for ease of scheduling and to maintain continuity as well as consistency in your physical therapy care. On certain occasions during holidays, vacation season or in times of personal scheduling conflicts, it may be necessary for you to be treated by a third clinician in order to keep you conveniently and effectively on schedule toward meeting therapy goals. Nonetheless, each treatment will be provided on a 1 on 1 basis and follow the plan of care established by your primary therapist.
